Who launched Parivahan Sewa?

The Parivahan Sewa was launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India. It was developed as part of the e-Governance initiative to provide online services related to road transport across India. The platform was designed to digitize various transport-related services, improve transparency, and reduce the need for citizens to physically visit Regional Transport Offices (RTOs).

Benefits of Parivahan Sewa

The Parivahan Sewa platform offers several benefits to citizens and the government:

For citizens:

  • Convenience: Access transport-related services online without visiting RTO offices, saving time and effort.
  • 24×7 Accessibility: Services are available round the clock, allowing users to apply for licenses and complete registrations at their convenience.
  • Transparency: Clear visibility into application status, fee structures, and documentation requirements.
  • Reduced Paperwork: Digital applications and document uploads minimize the need for physical paperwork.
  • Faster Processing: Online submission and verification typically result in quicker processing of applications.

For the government:

  • Streamlined Administration: Automated processes reduce manual workload for RTO officials and improve efficiency.
  • Better Record Management: Digital storage of vehicle and license information ensures better data management and retrieval.
  • Reduced Corruption: Online processes minimize direct interaction between officials and applicants, reducing opportunities for corruption.
  • Data Analytics: The system generates valuable data that can be analyzed for transport policy improvements and infrastructure planning.
  • Environmental Impact: Reduction in paper usage and fewer visits to RTOs contribute to lower carbon footprint.
